OrthoSmiles Fundraiser Trip to Pervomayskiy Detskiy Dom Children’s House

This specific project, I am truly proud we did. I knew and visited this place earlier, since my dad and his friends had a habit of visiting it closer to Christmas with presents for the kids. This time, while in Russia, I decided to organize a fundraiser for a dental care trip. Collectively, we raised $5500+, which was used for supplies. We donated food, clothing, toys, soap, and toothpaste, while I personally brought 500 toothbrushes from America to gift to the children. To make the day even more special, I organized a soccer match between the kids and donors, which created a fun and unforgettable experience for everyone. I thought that the hardest part was going to be collecting the funds, but in reality, it was really tricky to organize everything else. The transport (more than 4 hours drive to a rural area), the assembly of the team, and managing the time most suitable for the majority of the team, but we did it! So much pleasure and satisfaction . This project showed me the power of community and service, and I was honored to receive a certificate of recognition from the Children’s House, a painting made by the kids that hangs in my room and warms my heart every day, giving me the strength to continue working towards my dreams. I truly learned how meaningful it is to give not just material support, but also time, joy, and care.
